PlatSec for UIQ3
It already included in UIQ3 Hack Tool
Manifest:
Unlike S60v3 and above devices; RomPatcher application and Open4All patch are not available on UIQ3 devices. For this reason; in order to access full file system and use permissions such as TCB, you need to disable Platform Security on every reboot and enable it for security when not needed.
Both PlatSec and CapsSwitch applications can perform this operation. For this reason, they must be constantly installed on the device. It is indisputable that an application that can disable Platform Security must be quite secure against exploiting.
PlatSec was developed to provide exactly the security that is expected and necessary.
Security features added to PlatSec:
- Unlike CapsSwitch, it is not possible to disable platform security with hardware keys
- Provides the user with the option to block other similar malicious applications along with the application that can enable and disable Platform Security without any user interaction, such as CapsSwitch_onstart (Make sure to uncheck the Install PlatSecBridge option during installation to block)
- Since the installation can only be on device memory, security vulnerabilities such as changing the application components on the memory card with other devices (PC etc.) are prevented
- Since it is installed with a signature-protected SIS file, application components cannot be changed with other installation files after installation even if the installserver.exe patch is installed
- Since the SIS file is signed with a certificate valid until 2104; you benefit from the extra security provided by being signed and you do not have a certificate expiration problem

- PlatSecBridge feature that provides 3rd-party applications with the option to enable and disable Platform Security without any user interaction (Make sure to check the Install PlatSecBridge option during installation)
Differences between PlatSec and CapsSwitch:
- The above mentioned features
- Application icon is not installed with a separate file, it is selected from the device ROM, so application takes up less space
- The back button closes the application directly
- It is installed in the Control Panel, not in the Application Menu
- In some themes, the crashing issue in the About screen when transition effects are enabled has been resolved
Notes for PlatSecBridge feature:
- Be aware that this feature can be misused and compromise device security
- UIQ3 Hack Tool is coded in such a way that it can work easily without this feature
- You do not need to use the PlatSec application when using 3rd-party applications that use this feature. However, to use this feature, the PlatSec application must remain installed
- For Devs: UID of PlatSecBridge is EA314169, the file name is PlatSecBridge.exe and its location is c:\sys\bin\ folder
